The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home that has a combined gross residence income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public nsfas status universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric website results to nsfas 2025 apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
